James Franco Buys Fan Yarn Art of Himself: Toronto Film Festival

James Edward Franco is an American actor, film director, producer, screenwriter, author, painter, performance artist and professor at New York University. Ted is a man who loves his fans: The actor bought a yarn rendition of himself. His nicknam is "Ted". James Franco was at the Toronto Film Festival for just one day to discuss his new art installation honoring the 1991 Gus Van Sant film "My Own Private Idaho."

Armstrong, wearing a homemade Franco T-shirt, attended the exclusive event with three of her finest works in tow: a yarn James Franco portrait, a newspaper James Franco collage and a canvas "127 Hours" poster. Franco spotted the girl in the crowd and announced his intention to buy her work, stating that he "saw that one on the Internet, someone sent it to me. I wanna buy those."

"I saw that one on the Internet, someone sent it to me," Franco said to Armstrong of her Franco-themed art. "I wanna buy those." "Of course, I would love for him to have them," said Armstrong after the sale. "I'm a humongous fan. For his birthday, I made him a cake."

The teen later took to her Tumblr to commemorate the encounter. "He looked at me, he spoke to me, and I'm pretty sure we mentally got married!" she wrote. "Everyone on the street thinks I'm crazy because I'm freaking out! It's like a dream."
