Elizabeth Marvelly to Sing the New Zealand National Anthem for Warriors

The New Zealand singing sensation Elizabeth Marvelly is delighted to be named to sing the New Zealand National Anthem for the Warriors when they take on Manly in the NRL Telstra Premiership Grand Final this weekend in Sydney. Elizabeth - fresh from singing the anthem at this year's Bled sloe Cup matches and named to sing at one of the Rugby World Cup semi final matches - will perform for a sold-out crowd at ANZ Stadium in Sydney on Sunday.

Kiwi songstress, described by Prime Minister John Key as a 'national treasure' and whose recent album Home enjoyed a Top 10 chart position, says "It's always an honor to sing for the Warriors and to represent my country". "I feel hugely honored to be asked by the Warriors to sing for them on Sunday. The fire and the passion of the team and all of their supporters is incredibly inspiring and I'll do my best to sing it out loud for them! Go boys!"

Elizabeth is used to performing in front of large crowds. It began when she was just 16 and taken to the national stage by her uncle, the late Sir Howard Morrison. Then came her debut album and an Australasian and European tour with Britain's Got Talent opera phenomenon Paul Potts.

She performed to crowds numbering in the millions at prestigious venues including the Royal Albert Hall and the Sydney Opera House; Elizabeth Marvelly's musical life has been a wonderful ride. Earlier this year she enlisted a small army of artists and friends to stage a charity event to help raise money for the NZ Red Cross Earthquake Appeal.

'To Christchurch with Love', featuring Paul Potts, the NZSO and other best loved New Zealand artists, raised in excess of $115,000 for the Appeal. Elizabeth has also donated a percentage of her record sales profits to the NZ Red Cross Earthquake Appeal. An added highlight of 2011 has been a critically acclaimed Headline tour through New Zealand with the NZSO.

Dizzee Rascal Plans to Recording Tracks for New Album

Dizzee Rascal, original name Dylan Kwabena Mills is a Ghanaian British rapper, songwriter and record producer. He plans to go on hiatus until next year 2012 is in tatters - the British rapper has been recording tracks for a new album in the US. His music is a blend of garage, hip hop, grime, raga, pop and electronic music, with eclectic samples and more exotic styles.

The Bonkers hit maker told earlier this year how he was putting his career on hold to "kick back (and) recharge my batteries" after working solidly since shooting to fame in 2003. But the hard-working hip-hop star tells rock magazine Q he has already abandoned his plans to take it easy - he has been jetting between America and his native UK recording new collaborations with various fellow musicians.

"I'm not supposed to be making an album right now, but I just don't stop," he says. "I've not been doing it in designated blocks; I've just been spending a lot of time in Miami and other places working with people. A lot of these people, you've got to go where they are and grab them whenever they're free."

Farmer asked Rihanna to Cover up During a Video Shoot in his Grain Field

The top celebrity and famous pop star Rihanna got her marching orders after a farmer objected to her peeling off her clothes while filming a new video on his land. Alan Graham, 61, pulled up in his tractor and told the sexy singer to cover up and later claimed: "Her behaviour was inappropriate."

Rihanna was recording a video for We Found Love with Scottish DJ Calvin Harris in a muddy barley field near Bangor, Co Down - ahead of three sell-out shows at Belfast's Odyssey Arena this weekend. The filming was taking place close to a busy dual carriageway when she stripped to a bikini after removing a long checked dress. But the sight became too much for Graham's Christian beliefs and he politely asked the filming to stop.

Farmer tells Rihanna to cover up in video shoot:

"She understood where I was coming from. We shook hands and parted company on good terms," said the father of four, a member the Democratic Unionist Party on North down Borough council. Graham had agreed that one of his fields could be used for the recording but was not aware what the production team had in mind for the pop superstar when they moved to an adjoining piece of land.

Lindsay wore one of Plein's Embellished Cocktail Dresses: She Works Every Angle

The celebrity beauty Striking a Mean pose. Lindsay Lohan works every angle as she starts new modelling job for fashion designer Philipp Plein. Just one day after she was introduced as the new face of designer Philipp Plein's clothing collection, Lindsay Lohan showed off her sexy style.

The Mean Girls actress worked it for the camera today during a waterfront photo shoot in Bellagio, Italy. Wearing a flowing grey and white, animal print cocktail dress, Lindsay waited patiently as Plein gave her directions and a beauty team helped the star get camera ready.

In addition to the cocktail dress, she wore a pair or orange shorts with a matching cropped jacket and a white blouse underneath. On set stylists completed the look with sky high orange heels and a handbag that had a makeshift American flag printed on front. Once the show ended, she partied at a post-show bash with the designer.

But when the sun rose.. Lindsay was ready to work. The new modelling job is a welcome opportunity for the 25-year-old, whose acting career has stalled after a string of brushes with the law. In April, a Los Angeles judge threw the book at her, sentencing the troubled actress to 120 days in jail for violating her probation by getting arrested for stealing a necklace.

Jennifer Lopez gets frisky Las Vegas: Dance the Night Away

Jennifer was performing on the second and final day of the festival, which took place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. She performed a red hot set that include her new single Papi, and other hits including Get Right, On The Floor, Let's Get Loud, Ain't It Funny and her classic, Jenny From The Block.
After her rousing performance at the iHeartRadio music festival this weekend, it would have been rather a comedown to go straight to bed. And 42-year-old Jennifer Lopez clearly had no intention of hitting the hay as she continued the party at pure nightclub inside Casars Palace.

The star showed up in a form-fitting halter neck dress and proceeded to dance the night away to the delight of the crowd. The star looked prepared to carry on for hours as she rocked out in her revealing white and fluorescent pink ensemble, her long hair falling loose in waves over her bare shoulders.

Jennifer Lopez Photos and Images:

Showing up just before 2am, the Get Right singer initially stayed buried in the VIP section, slightly apart from the bulk of the revelers.  She was just one of many acts to take to the stage during the star-studded iHeartRadio music festival this weekend.

But Jennifer Lopez left her contemporaries firmly in the shade with a sexy and sassy performance showing that the much-loved pop diva is well and truly back to her booty-shaking best. It was certainly her intention last night with the focus on her famous derriere as she took to the stage in a red feathery tasseled outfit.

Smells like Teen Spirit Video - Nirvana

It is basically one of the most iconic and valuable videos in the music history, up there with Michael Jackson's "Thriller," Madonna's "Like a Virgin" or Lady Gaga's "Bad Romance." But to hear late Nirvana singer Kurt Cobain tell it, he wasn't that happy with how the final version of "Smells Like Teen Spirit" turned out, which is why he went in at the last minute and tweaked it himself.

Although it worked ... I like the video overall, but it wasn't what I pictured in my mind," Cobain said in a December 13, 1993, interview with MTV News about the clip that helped launch a rock revolution and turned his band into unwitting grunge poster children. "When I come up with an idea for a video, I want it to be translated exactly how I see it in my mind ... and it just wasn't that way.”We didn't prepare ourselves enough to have as much control as we wanted to," he explained, perhaps alluding to the fact that the clip was the first one the band filmed after making the huge leap from cash-strapped Seattle indie label Sub Pop to major label Geffen/DGC as a still mostly unknown new act.

Nirvana - 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' Video From YouTube:

Even though he was disappointed with the look of the set, Cobain had high praise for the super-jacked real fans who were trucked in to fill out the bleachers in the studio for the exhausting 12-hour shoot. "Still, the kids made the video," he said. "Even after Sam had edited it ... he edited it and sent it to me and I didn't like it, and I flew down at the last minute to L.A. and edited it myself. I threw in a few extra things which pretty much saved it." Cobain added that there was "a lot of really good" footage that Bayer had shot that wasn't used. "If a lot of that hadn't been used, it would have been a really bad video," he laughed, alluding to the shots of the (over) excited kids trashing the set.

Rihanna’s New Single "We Found Love" - On Tweets She Shared Lyrics and Cover Art

Rihanna is basically wants to say to her fans about her new single that is “We Found Love”. She also shaed the lyrics of the song with her fans. It was released on the September 22, 2011 on Facebook and the radio. As you would expect from a producer like Harris, "We Found Love" is a party-ready track. A synthy keyboard plays as Rihanna sings the opening lines of the song. It's a pretty sparse dance track that simply plays up her robotic-like vocals, a pulsing beat and a synth sound. The layers of the song are found in her vocals and Harris' production.

On the song, RI sings about finding that special someone. "Yellow diamonds in the light/ And we're standing side by side/ As your shadow crosses mine/ What it takes to come alive/ It's the way I'm feeling, I just can't deny/ But I've gotta let it go," she sings on the first chorus. The chorus simply features the line "We found love in a hopeless place" repeated four times. On the second verse, she sings, "Shine a light through an open door/ Love and life I will divide/ Turn away 'cause I need you more/ Feel the heartbeat in my mind/ It's the way I'm feeling, I just can't deny/ But I've gotta let it go."

Rihanna's New Single We Found Love - Video from YouTube:

For the art, Rihanna is punked out in a pompadour, loose-fitting jeans, chains, and a denim jacket and chunky boots. She looks fiercely into the camera, arms crossed as she walks through the city. Both Rihanna and Harris are giving the single four thumbs up. "Excited for people to hear the new @rihanna song, i can tell u she sounds like a #angel!" Harris tweeted. After the song dropped, Rihanna had this message for her fans: "*pulls out glow stick*."

Rooney Mara in "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo"

Rooney Mara is Lisbeth Salander, or as close to the "Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" hacker as anyone born outside of Scandinavia could possibly be. People did not want to see longest “Tattoo” trailer which is basically convinced the previously under-the-radar actress had transformed herself from a girl-next-door type to a worthy big-screen heir not only to the badass in Stieg Larsson's novel but to Noomi Rapace, who played Salander in the Swedish trilogy. We were sold after the first eye-popping photos of Mara in character appeared in January.

"I think I knew pretty early on. I screen-tested with her a couple times and I saw exactly what [director] David [Fincher] was after with her," Craig told us. "If you read the books, she's just spot-on. Rooney herself is actually really rounded and normal — she's not boring, honestly — but she had to bring this very broken human being to life and she did it brilliantly."

While the actor spoke glowingly of the film, and previously raved to us about collaborating with Fincher on "Dragon Tattoo,", he confessed to having zero interest in reuniting with Fincher on his next effort, an adaptation of "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea," which will reportedly rely heavily on mo-cap technology. "He's got all sorts of things lined up, and I do not want to be on that production," Craig said. "I will go and visit them. It would be a great film to watch."

'X Factor' First-Night Video and Ratings - 12.1 Million Viewers

Simon Cowell is talking about how he likes the show x factor and he also said that he'd like his new reality singing show to bury the competition, which, in his case is his old reality singing stomping grounds, "American Idol."

"The X Factor" is going to have to do a lot better than it did during September 21, 2011 night debut if it's going to reach the "Idol" critical mass. According to overnight ratings, not only did "Factor" pull about half of the typical "Idol" market share, it wasn't even the highest-rated show that aired recently. According to Nielsen, "Factor" pulled in 12.1 million viewers for its heavily hyped two-hour debut, with a 4.4/12 rating in the prized 18 to 49 demographic, which was far below the numbers for the night's ratings champ, Emmy-winning sitcom "Modern Family," which boasted 14.3 million viewers and a 6.0/15 for its season premiere. In fact, "Factor" was only the fourth most-watched show of the night.

The X Factor Recap: Season 1, Episode 1 - Video From YouTube

Before the "Factor" debut, Cowell told the Reporter he would view anything less than 20 million viewers for the first show as a "disappointment."As with "Idol," it's likely the ratings for "X Factor" will grow as the season progresses and the competition becomes more intense among contestants to whom viewers have become attached. And judging from the first episode, while the show certainly has some glaring similarities to "Idol," there are enough novel touches — a wider age range of contestants, singing groups and a live audience at auditions — that like the hit singing competition "The Voice," Cowell's latest might find its footing and end up with solid, but perhaps not record-shattering ratings.

Georgia Jagger Wants Rolling Stones to Tour in 2012

The model Georgia is keeping a clear diary next summer in the hope the Rolling Stones go on the road in 2012 to celebrate the band's 50th anniversary. Georgia Jagger is angling for her dad to take her on tour. The last time she joined her old man Mick Jagger and the band she would have been too young to have much rock and roll type fun.

When quizzed about the possibility of the Stones touring next year, Georgia said: "Hopefully when they play again I hope to go with them. It's really, really fun." "It's just all the people I've grown up with – they're like family to me," she said.

There's still no official word about whether Mick, Keith Richards, Ronnie Wood, and Charlie Watts will give fans what they want and announce a string of gigs. But they have been in touch a lot more recently – the last time was in central London two weeks ago.

New 'Charlie's Angels' will be Success?

They acknowledge that fans have certain expectations and will scream if they aren't met. The original "Charlie's Angels" was a cultural phenomenon when it debuted in 1976, making stars of Farrah Fawcett, Kate Jackson and Jaclyn Smith.

Fawcett proved particularly popular, with boys posting her iconic poster in their rooms and girls copying her feathered hair. The first episode of the new "Charlie's Angels" is scheduled to air at 8 p.m. EDT Thursday (0000 GMT Friday), the 35th anniversary of the original's premiere.

"When you say you're going to reboot Charlie's Angels, you certainly are just hanging a big target on your back," Gough said. "What you want to do ideally is reconnect with an audience that loved the show when they were younger and also bring new fans to it." But the new show starts fresh: These Angels aren't saints. In the original, the women had all trained to become L.A. police officers but sexism in the department had left them relegated to menial positions, so Charlie recruited them to be real detectives.

In the new series, the Angels all have sketchy pasts. Charlie recruits them to give them a second chance, using the skills they developed as criminals to do good. "They're sort of Angels with dirty faces," Gough said.

Taylor said she and her co-stars are looking forward to putting a modern twist on the mythology. "Even though they were extremely cool and successful, we just want to do our own version," Taylor said. According to Ilonzeh, the chemistry among the different characters is what drove the old series and the movies.

The new show promises plenty of action, but producers are trying to go for a more realistic feel, moving away from the gravity defying "Wire Fu" acrobatics featured in the films.

"I love my job. I love being an actor," Kelly said. "But then when you get to go and be physical and learn how to drift cars and scuba dive and horseback ride and learn to fight Krav Maga”.

Simon Cowell's "X Factor" will finally Premiere on Wednesday - How big will it be?

Simon Cowell's "X Factor" will finally premiere on Wednesday. But will it be one talent contest too many? And can the show possibly be as big a hit in the U.S. as it is back in the UK? I've been eagerly anticipating the U.S. launch of "The X Factor" for a long time now and have been frequently posting updates on my site Remote Patrolled.

As a reality TV producer, originally from the UK but now living here in the United States, I'm very familiar with "The X Factor" format and its influence on British culture. For the past eight years, "The X Factor" has been the No. 1 entertainment show in British television, launching the career of several British pop stars and one international singing sensation, Leona Lewis. So can lightning strike twice?

The X Factor’s format is similar to "Idol," but there are several key differences. On "The X Factor," each of the four judges 'mentor' a category of contestant: Males younger than 30; females younger than 30; groups; and 30s and older.

The show therefore becomes a contest between the judges as much as the contestants, often resulting in plenty of judges' bickering. At the same time, the diversity of the contestants also makes the show rather different from "Idol," which these days only seem to crown white male guitar players.

UK X Factor 2011 PROMO Video:

Difference is that "The X Factor" is BIG! Auditions take place in front of a live audience, rather than a tiny audition room. And as the show progresses, it's the job of the judges to produce each of the contestants' performances as though they were staging an awards show style performance.

In large part, the success of "The X Factor" will depend on whether it can discover a true international superstar. Even Simon Cowell has admitted this will be the benchmark of the show's success. Unfortunately this will also be the show's toughest challenge.
