The song has a catchy and vibrant vibe that makes the song perfect for a party night. The song consists of contemporary meringue music with pop lyrics and rap over it. El Cata’s song “Loca Con Su Tiguere” is an interpretation of “Loca” where Shakira changed some instrumental melodies, changing the lyrics and giving the song a different beat. The song was well acclaimed by music critics as well as public. Dizzee Rascal has stated that he was honored when Shakira chose him to feature on English version of the song.
Shakira’s long time collaborator Jaume de Laiguana has directed the video of the song in Barcelona, Spain. A sneak preview of video showing Shakira roller-skating, riding a motorbike, dancing in fountain surrounded by fan was previewed on Shakira’s official website on September 23. The entire song matches the video perfectly; as it describes how much men love Shakira even though she’s crazy. Rapper Dizzee Rascal is also featured in the video. Shakira was caught in some legal troubles as she was not issued a permit to shot in Barcelona. Moreover riding on a motor bike without helmet and climbing on to public fountain are no’s according to the Barcelona officials. The video has calculated madness with vibrant and unchained energy that very few artists can conjure up. The video is real fun.
